Rare 5 Speed w/ sunroof Euro Spec. Although high mileage it is in excellent condition. Pampered by each owner. (I am the third owner)
Serviced by BimmerHaus. Imported by Deitel Enterprises in CA in 1985. At that time some engine mods were added like a cam and bigger pistons. According to original owner in CA it Dyno's at 268 HP however I have not verified that. I can say the car is fast and cruises very nicely at highway speeds and "spirited driving".
Other upgrades include, larger vented rotors and calibers; all new Urethane bushings, H4 "blue" Lo / hi beam headlights, Alpina steering wheel, new battery, New Bayern Wheels / Tires, new sun visors, floor and trunk mats, reconditioned front seats. New door weatherstrip moldings. Also new driveshaft and center mount bearing June 09.
Engine pulls strong and does not smoke or leak. Ribbon winner at recent CP Concourse. Includes car cover and a few miscellaneous parts.
It is a blast to drive and runs well / shifts tightly however it has "needs". I have bee restoring it for the last two years and am moving onto another project. First Gear bearings are history. Although very driveble, a tranny repair will be required in time. Also could use a new Clutch Master. Most is original paint with evidence in two small areas of some paint work. The last step in my restoration was to be a full repaint. Possible inclusions negotiable: I also have new OEM rain gutter/ water deflector trim to be installed when painted. Also have brand new OEM Front Seat bottoms in Anthrazit Buffalo Leather. The only ones in existence from Mobile Tradition.
