Installing the Russ Wiles Battery Box in an E46 requires special care.

The attachment mechanism for the main battery cable on an E46 utilizes an explosive charge to separate it quickly from the power supply in case of an accident.

Handle this attachment mechanism with extreme care! Not only would it be extremely dangerous if it were to discharge while you were handling it, but the replacement cable costs more than $425!!

Also, because of the way BMW designed the battery hold down on an E46, a 1" spacer is required above the battery to use the battery box with a Hawker Odyssey or DynaBatt battery. Be sure to specify that you will be installing it in an E46 and we will be sure to include this spacer.
